I know I say this a lot around here but, the tireless work of the Android modding community never ceases to amaze me. Really. Just take a look at the HTC Sensation 4G who — thanks to the work of a few good devs on XDA — has found itself the subject of a software mod that just about everyone would want on their rooted device. NODO-GT and friends have found a way to shoot uncompressed images and double the bitrate on the Sensation, vastly improving video and still shots on the device.
