Sprint Nexus 5 Launches November 8th For $149.99

Sprint Nexus 5 Launches November 8th For $149.99

A few days back we picked up on a leaked press render of the Sprint Nexus 5. It was rumored that Google's next Nexus smartphone will be coming over to Sprint, something that would definitely be welcomed by the carrier's subscribers as they didn't get the Nexus 4 last year. Earlier today Google officially announced the Nexus 5 and confirmed that it would be available from the carrier. Sprint Nexus 5 will launch on November 8th, priced at $149.99 with a two year contract. That's the 16GB variant after a $50 mail-in rebate, for new customers or existing ones eligible for an upgrade.

Google Glass Accessory Store Goes Live

Google Glass Accessory Store Goes Live

Google Glass is yet to be launched for the public, but there's already a lot of hype surrounding Google's wearable gadget. The company has only offered it to a select few people who're called “Explorers.” A few days ago the company announced that it will now be rolling out updated units of Google Glass to Explorers. Its evidently ramping up production, as it will soon allow Explorers to invite three people they want to the Glass program, who'll be able to purchase their own units. Apparently Google will allow sell accessories for the wearable gadget, as screenshot of a Google Glass accessory store has surfaced online.

Pandora update finally enables Chromecast

Pandora update finally enables Chromecast

The other day, Pandora announced a brand new upgrade that would bring us the tablet user interface we've all been waiting for. While that alone was big enough, we noticed something in the Google Play screenshots that wasn't in the app itself — a Chromecast icon. Pandora was listed as a Chromecast partner from the get-go, but they took their sweet time adding support in their apps. Thankfully, that is no longer the case.
A new upgrade today officially brings Chromecast support, so you can easily beam your tunes to your entertainment center (that's if you don't prefer feeding your tunes through other means already).

Tell time in alien code with this Tokyoflash Japan watch

I believe this is the first watch I've seen from Tokyoflash Japan that has two time modes: regular and cryptic.  (Regular is stylized numerals and cryptic are those same numerals with the middle lines removed to give them an alien look.)  In addition to the two time modes, the Kisai Xtal LED Watch has a date mode, alarm, and six different user-selectable animations.  Its stainless steel case is available in either black (with your choice of blue, green, red or white LEDs) or gold (with choice of red or white LEDs).  It's available for $139 until  Thursday, October 31s,t at 11:00am Japan time; after that, the price increases to $169.

Warcraft RTS: Alliance And Horde Is A Fanmade Successor For The Franchise

While Blizzard's Warcraft franchise is now focused on the World of Warcraft MMORPG and the Hearthstone game, many gamers probably still fondly recall the original game as a real-time strategy game that they played on their computers, with cheat codes such as "it is a good day to die" and "make it so" that gave gamers a leg up over the computer. While it remains unknown if Blizzard will ever release a Warcraft IV, especially since StarCraft 2 is the developer and community's eSport of choice, one particular modder has decided to take it upon himself to release his own take on the game.

Sheriff's Deputy Saved By Her iPhone Charging Cable

Sheriff's Deputy Saved By Her iPhone Charging Cable

Just the other day we heard how a HTC EVO 3D managed to save the life of a gas station clerk when a bullet was fired at him, with the phone standing in the way of the bullet and the man's chest, ultimately absorbing the shock and impact of the bullet that might have otherwise killed him. Coincidentally it seems that a LA County Sheriff's deputy also had her life saved, but not by a phone, but by an Apple iPhone charging cable instead, which is admittedly pretty interesting given that the charging cable isn't exactly as sturdy or solid when compared to a phone.

This past week, Google opened up the Glass Explorer program by allowing all current Glass Explorers to invite three friends to purchase Glass. The Glass Team also announced that hardware version 2.0 was well underway and would be available to all Glass Explorers in the future. What they didn't tell us was that an official accessory shop for Glass would soon be opening. The official Glass Shop contains most current Glass accessories (clear shield, charger, pouch) and adds the new and upcoming mono earbud. The earbud, according to the Glass Shop is specifically designed for Glass to provide high-quality sound for both video and phone calls.

Nintendo: Wii U Still Having A "Negative Impact" On Our Profits

It should be no surprise the Wii U hasn't performed as well as Nintendo may have expected it to as its sales continue to disappoint the company on a regular basis. The latest reports coming from Nintendo continue to show how poorly the console is performing as a total of 460,000 Wii U consoles sold worldwide in the six month period ending on September 30. In total, the Wii U has sold a total of 3.91 million units globally, although Nintendo is optimistically predicting its console will sell nine million units before the end of its 2014 financial year.

It is safe to say that Apple's iPhone is without a doubt popular regardless of wherever you go, although its market share will vary from country to country. However it seems that with the recent launch of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in Japan, especially with NTT DOCOMO finally coming on board and offering the device to their subscribers, Apple's iPhone has managed to capture a fairly significant amount of market share.

California Cop tickets woman for driving with Google Glass

California Cop tickets woman for driving with Google Glass

We've seen private establishments like bars ban glass. We've seen social backlash about Google Glass being for being “Glassholes” (the term is lamer than the tech). But one place Google Glass hasn't been banned yet, although it's in the works: your car. Not anymore. Glass Explorer +Cecilia Abade was just issued a ticket for driving while wearing Google Glass.

There is no publicly available information discerning the legalities of driving with Glass and at most (in my opinion), Cecilia should have been given a warning, well wishes, and been on her way.

This was bound to happen at some point and the ruling on Ms.

Hands-On: Samsung Galaxy NX

Hands-On: Samsung Galaxy NX

Samsung first unveiled its Galaxy NX camera earlier this year during a press event the company held on June 20 in London. Since then, we've been hearing more and more in regards to the Galaxy NX, but today, we were able to finally get our hands on the camera for ourselves. Before we get into the nitty gritty of what Samsung has put under the hood of the Galaxy NX, we know one of the first things you'll take note of when you get your hands on the camera is how it feels. When we held the Galaxy NX in our hands, we felt extremely comfortable holding it, although it's understandably top heavy due to its lens.

If you've been looking for a good reason to snap up a Moto X without having to sign a two-year contract for AT&T, a $100 price drop might be a good reason. After seeing the phone come down in price to $99 and $149 on the two-year agreement deal, Motorola has now also applied that same price drop to their off-contract pricing. That means you'll be able to get a Moto X for as little as $480 without having to sign a two-year contract (add $50 for the 32GB version). Unfortunately, things still aren't all peachy with the MotoMaker.

Livescribe 3 smartpen digitizes notes straight to your iPad, starts at $150

Because Livescribe 3 gives over so much functionality to the app (which we'll get to later), the design of the pen is surprisingly minimal. Indeed, Livescribe's VP of Marketing, Bryan Rodrigues, told us that the company wanted it to look more like a pen than a gadget. With the screen and the on/off switch gone, we'd say they succeeded on that front. Instead of hitting a button, you turn it on by twisting the textured middle ring clockwise, which reveals the ballpoint nib as well.

LG officially took the wraps off the G Flex smartphone with curved display in Korea. The Android handset will hit all three major carriers in its homeland next month, where it will square off against the Samsung Galaxy Round. Naturally, the main feature of the LG G Flex is its curved display. It is a massive 6x720p OLED unit whose IMAX cinema-like horizontal curve in landscape mode will allow for an immersive experience when watching videos or playing video games.

Another peculiar talent featured by the device is self-healing film on its back which can deal with minor scratches in a matter of minutes.

Aston CEO claims Cygnet cancelled because Toyota is dropping iQ in 2014

While slow sales and a $50,000 price tag may have been contributing factors to the Aston Martin Cygnet being cancelled last month, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is pointing the finger at Toyota for the demise of this luxurious little city car. In a discussion with Autocar, Bez is quoted as saying that the ultimate reason the Cygnet was cut is because Toyota plans on dropping the iQ (on which the Cygnet is based) in 2014 – a claim denied by the Japanese automaker.

. Throughout my life I have worked out diligently in a never ending effort to run faster/further, jump higher, hit harder, etc. As many longtime athletes know, to maintain that same fitness level requires an ever increasing effort and perseverance as the years and decades roll by. Historically I have rarely measured my weight, BMI, or body fat. Typically it was as simple as my last run pace and how my jeans fit. But sadly, I find it time to raise the bar on the management of my fitness. It is my hope that Withings‘ latest high-tech weight and body management tool will help me do just that.

Study finds iPhone 5S & 5C touchscreens inaccurate, but Galaxy S3 is spot-on

So iPhone owners can claim that their touchscreens are more responsive than those of Android users, but are they as accurate. That's the question the folks at OptoFidelity wanted to answer, so they built a machine to do the heavy lifting and set about plotting their data. The results were quite surprising. Using a precision-calibrated robot arm and finger to continuously touch smartphone displays at specific coordinates, the intended result was than compared to the actual data points registered by the operating system.

Red Bull pits V8 Supercar against stunt plane... on a beach

Red Bull pits V8 Supercar against stunt plane... on a beach

One of the top comments on this YouTube video from Red Bull reads (sics throughout), "Red Bull isn't an energy drink company. It is a marketing company that owns a energy drink. It all ways has been." And that's just fine with us, so long as the Austrian company continues putting together stunts like this. The idea of pitting a plane against a car is pretty common, and even when using a V8 Supercar and a Red Bull stunt aerobatics plane, it's nothing we haven't seen before. That said, adding a beach on Australia's gorgeous Gold Coast to the equation brings an additional layer of excitement to the car-versus-plane trope.

More than 600 Ferrari models, representing every era of the famed automaker's production, celebrated 30 years of presence in Hong Kong with a gathering at the Asia World Expo this past weekend. The event marked the largest single gathering of Maranello's sports cars ever organized in China. The weekend culminated with Marc Gene, Scuderia Ferrari's test driver, unveiling the new 458 Speciale. There are only about 1,700 Ferrari owners in China, and they boast an average age of just 35 years. The young clientele in the Asian market often take advantage of Ferrari's 'Tailor Made' bespoke program and they have a growing interest in racing.

When Apple released OS X Mavericks to the public, not only did they introduce a new look and a host of new features to consumers, but they have also introduced added security to Mac computers as well with one of them through the use of the App Sandbox feature. Now it seems that after years of taking abuse and having to fight off malware and exploits through Adobe Flash Player, Adobe has announced that they will be taking advantage of App Sandbox which should help restrict malicious code from running outside of OS X Maverick's native browser, Safari.
