Upcoming iPhone Could Feature A7 Chip Made By Samsung

Upcoming iPhone Could Feature A7 Chip Made By Samsung

Earlier today thanks to an observation made in the new iOS 7 beta that was recently seeded to developers, it was found that the upcoming iPad mini could feature an A6 processor, the same processor which is used by the iPhone 5. However with the iPhone 5S rumored to be in the works and could launch later this year, what will the new iPhone be using. Unsurprisingly it seems that the iPhone 5S could use an A7 chipset, thanks to developer Nick Frey who found references to a certain S5L8960X chip which presumably is that of the A7.

Zelda Wind Waker HD Has New Difficulty Mode, Says Amazon

Right at the beginning of this year, we managed to get word that the highly acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker game that proved to be one of the Nintendo GameCube's enduring games would be getting a remake, where this particular remake would be headed for the Nintendo Wii U and will carry the title The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for obvious reasons – and also to keep up with the times, I suppose. Well, the folks over at Amazon did share that The Wind Waker HD will come with a new difficulty mode, so it is not going to be a walk in the park even for seasoned Zelda fans.

Sonic The Hedgehog Played From A First-Person's Perspective

Sonic The Hedgehog Played From A First-Person's Perspective

Games like Mario and Sonic were side scrolling games when they were first introduced, although their later incarnations brought a touch of 3D to the mix. You might recall a while back there was a video where the game of Super Mario Bros. was played from a first-person's perspective, and if you thought that was cool, would Sonic the Hedgehog played from a first-person's perspective be of interest to you. Given that Sonic involves a lot of running and spinning, we reckon a bit of motion-sickness could occur, but it's still an interesting perspective nonetheless.

Kinect Used To Create Maya Pixel Sculpture

Kinect Used To Create Maya Pixel Sculpture

Microsoft's Kinect has definitely come a long, long way, since its 2010 release (do check out our hands-on), and it has been hacked to be a boob tracker (of all things!), help out in sign language, and in more recent news, Kinect is even employed by the US Navy to address rape issues, now how about that. Well, since a picture speaks a thousand words, and a video does say a whole lot more than that as it contains a fair number of pictures being shown at a pretty fast rate per second, check out what is shown above. Apparently, Kinect has been employed to create this interesting looking pixel structure.

Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally

Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.

Guitar Hero Co-Inventors Want To Make Exercising Fun With Accessories And Games

For a lot of us, exercise can be quite boring and running on the treadmill for an hour straight is probably one of the dullest things possible, but what if exercise could be fun. What if you could do something that would be considered exercise, but at the same time be enjoyable to the point where you forget it's exercise. Well that's what the folks at Blue Goji hopes to do with their new game. For those unfamiliar, Blue Goji is a new startup that was quietly founded back in 2011 by the co-inventors of Guitar Hero, Kai and Charles Huang.

Diablo 3's Auction House Had A Detrimental Effect, According To Diablo & Diablo 2 Lead Designer

When Blizzard announced the auction house feature in Diablo 3, we guess it would be safe to say that there were at least two sets of gamers - one that did not mind the auction house and actually welcomed it, and the other that felt that this would detract from the fun that comes with grinding levels and farming for hours to land that super-legendary piece of armor or weapon. Unsurprisingly it seems that even within Blizzard, not everyone was a fan of the auction house and Diablo and Diablo 2's lead designer, Stieg Hedlund, felt that it had a detrimental effect on the game.

Indian Grand Prix in jeopardy?

Indian Grand Prix in jeopardy?

BBC Sport is reporting that Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One boss and indicted briber, has said the Indian Grand Prix will "probably not" happen in 2014. The race, which takes place at the purpose-built Buddh International Circuit, is in danger due to a combination of reasons, including Ecclestone's desire to move India from its current slot in October to the beginning of the season, in March or April. According to the BBC, this is to accommodate a schedule envisioned by Ecclestone that adds races in Austria, New Jersey and Russia, in addition to the current 19-race calendar.

Race Recap: Mystery, magic and consistency at the 2013 Hungarian F1 Grand Prix [spoilers]

For the last three years, the question many have asked about the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team is "What are they doing?" This year that question is, "What will they do next?" They lured Lewis Hamilton from McLaren. They hadn't yet cured their tire issues, yet Nico Rosberg has still been winning races. They got away with a seriously illegal questionable tire test. And then after being shut out of the Young Driver Test and a chance to learn the new Pirelli tires, Lewis Hamilton shows up at the Hungaroring – a track where everyone (including Mercedes itself) expected the team to struggle – and puts his car on pole position.

Samsung to release two tablets with 2560 x 1600 displays: SM-P900 and SM-P600

Remember the Samsung SM-P900 / SM-P905 tablet that seemingly has a 2560 x 1600 pixels display. It looks like it isn't the only new Samsung tablet that will feature a screen with that resolution. EVleaks reports that there's also the Samsung SM-P600. The difference between the two? The SM-P900 / SM-P905 has a 12.2 inch display, an Exynos 5 Octa processor (most likely the new generation), and an S-Pen stylus. The SM-P600 should be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, sporting a smaller 10 inch screen.

While EVleaks doesn't provide links to any official sources, we are.

Four men were pulled over in the German town of Eibenstock in what a police report described as "a convertible of a slightly different kind." What made this BMW 3 Series Convertible different. It was filled with 530 gallons of water. Yes, four German men had turned their car into a swimming pool. The beige BMW drew the attention of the German polizei after an officer noticed water sloshing over the sides. Following the car into a parking lot, the four occupants hopped out and made a run for it, according to Der Spiegel.

Apple Patent Describes Intuitive Battery Management System

Battery life is a very real concern with electronic devices. As internal components get bigger and better, the need for substantial backup power increases as well. A new Apple patent describes an intuitive battery management system that will be able to conserve much needed battery life. The system will work based on usage patterns to determine how much power the device needs between charges, it will be capable of powering down “one or two characteristics” of the device based on those patterns so as to conserve energy.
The system will use location data along with user activity to determine how much power the device needs.

Yesterday we reported that after a typical patch released for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, several unhappy gamers took to Twitter to send the game's designer death threats, a move which is undoubtedly uncalled for, but in a way almost expected since some gamers can be pretty passionate and obsessive about the games they play, and absolutely hate it when things are changed. In any case it seems like Activision's Community Manager, Dan Amrich, did not take too kindly to Black Ops 2's game designer being threatened and has written an entire editorial piece, slamming the gamers who thought it was alright to make those threats.

RHex Performs Parkour In An Adorable Manner

RHex is definitely not one of the newest robots on the block, at least we have talked about it all the way back in 2007, where back then, this robot from Boston Dynamics was definitely not as refined as the bad boy that you can check out in the video above. In fact, just last year, we also talked about the RHex Lite that comes with a tail – and that tail is not vestigial, since it has the purpose of providing necessary and relevant balance to the robot when it moves.
