BMW Z8 freshened courtesy of Senner Tuning

The 2001-2003 Z8 is one of the more graceful designs to slip from the BMW design studios in recent memory. With the droptop's classic roadster lines and plenty of performance on tap, the Z8 may not have sold like gangbusters when it was in production, but its slow-burn appeal has ensured that it has plenty of fans and impressive resale value. Despite a very limited production run of just 5,703 units, Senner Tuning has belatedly turned its attention toward modifying this convertible, which is quickly becoming a classic.

Syndicate demo hitting PSN today

Have you played Syndicate in the past. The game from Bullfrog, being released in 1993, proved to be one of the more interesting, future forward titles that had you glued in front of the computer as you attempted a particularly frustrating mission over and over again, before realizing that it is already dawn and you need to get ready for school. Well, this old school title has been remade for a far more formidable gaming platform compared to the PC of yesteryears – the Sony PS3, and you will be able to check out the Syndicate demo that is arriving on PSN later today.

Samsung Announces Super Bowl Ad Details

Samsung Announces Super Bowl Ad Details

Samsung has just issued a press release detailing what they'd be doing for their first ever Super Bowl ad. Their advertisement – which will be a 90 second spot – will air sometime throughout the fourth quarter, an expensive gesture for any company to make. Bobby Farrelly, creator of There's Something About Mary and Dumb and Dumber, will direct the commercial. Their press release focuses a lot on the note so we imagine their ad will be focused on that, as well. The Super Bowl airs February 5th, the same day that the Galaxy Note goes up for presale on its first US carrier – AT&T.

Rumor: Nokia Lumia 900 headed to Rogers in May

The Nokia Lumia 900 was just announced for AT&T earlier this month, but understandably you're all anxious to find out when exactly it will make it to your neck of the woods. If you're in Canada, for example, we heard that it would be headed there at some point. Though that was before the official announcement of the phone, and since then no new info has surfaced. In the meantime, the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 were both made official for Canada, so the chances for their (literally) bigger brother to miss out on the party up north should be pretty slim.
That's exactly what several sources told MobileSyrup.

The Ice Cream Sandwich update will bring lots of new features to the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note, including a new task manager, better notification manager and vastly improved browser in terms of both functionality and performance.

Nichio Maru car carrier goes green

Cars have gone green with the recent introduction of hybrids and fully electric models over the past decade, but what about ships that sail the seven seas. Large cargo freighters are, after all, one of the major sources of CO2 emissions around the globe, so it is nice to see companies do their bit to transform such vessels into a more efficient version.

Earlier today we brought you news about a few T-Mobile devices that are bound to reach End-of-Life status soon in the US, and now it's time for some similar news, this time coming from Orange UK. The operator is going to discontinue three devices before the end of this month, and a big name in March. The HTC Flyer, Nokia E6, and BlackBerry Torch 9860 have all apparently run out of time at Orange, since their End-of-Life is at the end of January. Latest marketing campaign all about getting consumers obsessed with Samsung

While Samsung's latest marketing campaign seems focused on mocking the culture of obsession surrounding Apple's iPhone, the goal of the ads is less about tearing down the competition and more about creating a similar bond between consumers and the Galaxy line of Android smartphones, according to marketing head Younghee Lee. “People are obsessed with Apple,” said Lee in a conversation with AllThingsD, “it's time to change people's attention.” The way to do this, Lee feels, is by engaging with customers “from the bottom of their heart.”.

Did someone really order this Alfa Romeo 8C with a General Lee paint scheme?

Yup. Someone has apparently taken it upon themselves to slather the slinkiest of Alfa Romeo models with the bright orange paint and stars and bars of the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. Why. Because if you have enough cash to park an 8C Competizione in your expansive garage, you can paint it in whatever livery you damn well please. Details are scarce, but our source says the coupe is real, and it rocks the appropriate "01" numbering on each door.

As Civic Hybrid mileage lawsuit continues, Honda shows up

Heather Peters is suing Honda in small-claims court in Torrance, California over the lackluster fuel economy she's gotten out of her 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. It isn't really a new lawsuit, it's one that sprung from Peters not signing onto the settlement of an earlier class-action lawsuit brought by one John True, who sued Honda over the same issue. The meat of the claim is that Honda's window sticker attested to an EPA combined 42 miles per gallon figure, but unhappy drivers are getting closer to 32 mpg.

LG’s followup to the Optimus 3D recently surfaced under the LG CX2 name. The new handset, which looks to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, is said to feature a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU from Texas Instruments, a glasses-free 3D NOVA display measuring 4.3-inches, and dual 5MP cameras for capturing 3D content. It’s also expected to launch under a name other than the CX2 (surprise, surprise). The latest rumors suggest the final moniker of the handset will be the LG Optimus 3D Max, a fitting name for a phone that improves on the original Optimus 3D without completely re-inventing the concept.

Nissan Note gets minor upgrades for 2012

For 2012, the funky little Nissan Note is getting some upgrading for its top two trims, the oddly named Acenta and N-TEC+, while the Note lineup itself is getting some downsizing. Outside, the Acenta sits on 16-inch wheels now and gets "chrome-effect" caps on the side-view mirrors and around the front fog lights. Inside, items like climate control and automatic headlights are standard, as is a blue cross-stitching on the seats for "a more premium feel.". Above that, in the UK, the new N-TEC+ trim is now the top-of-the-line model, as the former top-tier Tekna is going away.

It's also increasingly becoming the go-to test track for automakers big and small. But those two things may in the end become mutually exclusive. The root of the problem appears to be a lack of funding for the Nürburgring.
