Grace Digital Eco Terra Rugged Boombox

Grace Digital Eco Terra Rugged Boombox

People would want to bring their portable music players just about anywhere. But with some devices, there can be a limit to where they can be used. Some, for example, would not be ideal to bring near any body of water or sandy area lest they get damaged without the necessary protection. If you still wish to bring them along on your next trip to the beach, then you might also want to bring along the Eco Terra Rugged Boombox from Grace Digital.
Grace Digital Eco Terra is a waterproof and rugged iPhone and mp3 player case that comes with its own set of speakers.

Project Phenix brings DRM to a new level

Project Phenix brings DRM to a new level

Fox, Warner, SanDisk and Western Digital have come together to promote Digital Rights Management (DRM) to a new level, where this online cloud backup solution that caters for movies which is known as Project Phenix (not a typo) will enable one to back up movies onto a range of portable storage devices, where they can range from SD memory cards to portable hard drives, seeing action on notebooks, tablets and smartphones later on. Developed by the Secure Content Storage Association, Project Phenix will feature technology that is compatible with UltraViolet, the Hollywood-backed solution that allows one to license movies in the cloud.

Eton Rover Self-Powered AM/FM/NOAA Weather Radio with Flashlight and USB Cell Phone Charger Review

I've mentioned several times that the Piedmont area in North Carolina where I live has a lot of bad weather – tornadoes, thunderstorms, and hurricanes in the summer; ice storms and sometimes even tornadoes in the winter – that can leave us without power for days.  No power means no lights and no telephone service for us because we only use our cell phones.  It seems the only flashlight I can find when I need one has dead or dying batteries, so I need to have a ready source of light that doesn't depend on non-rechargeable batteries.  I also need a way to be connected to the outside world – both a source of news and a way t

Volkswagen optical illusion car conjured

Volkswagen optical illusion car conjured

Someone just hire designer Sangwoo Lee already – this guy conjured this particular Volkswagen concept that was inspired by optical art and visual kinetics. Known as the Volkswagen Optism (what a name – I am not that optimistic that it will hit the streets though), it was specially created with horizontal slants that will have the vehicle change its “character” when viewed from a different angle. The lines themselves do seem to create movement as well as direction, and since these lines are all over the place, ranging from the exterior all the way to the wheels and the interior.

Jaguar reveals XF Sportbrake ahead of Geneva debut

Jaguar reveals XF Sportbrake ahead of Geneva debut

If you're of the opinion that the world needs fewer bloated crossovers and SUVs and more station wagons, first of all, you're in good company. Wagons can offer all the cargo capacity and most of the versatility of their taller siblings, only without the wobbly handling and excess weight. Secondly, today's your day, because Jaguar has unleashed its new XF Sportbrake. Based, as you might have guessed, on the XF sedan, the Sportbrake offers the longer roofing and extra space embraced by European buyers over their saloon counterparts.

Whole Foods experimenting with Kinect-powered shopping carts that are smarter than you (video)

Here's a little secret Whole Foods doesn't like to advertise: they want, nay, demand, that a rather large percentage of residents near its highfalutin grocery stores have a college degree. Apparently you've gotta be smart to navigate its aisles crowded with over-priced organic wares and exotic condiments. Perhaps, though, the company has realized the error of its ways and wants to move in to new markets. That doesn't mean it trusts you and your high school diploma to decipher all those labels with difficult to pronounce words on them.

Chrome now easily opens email links in Gmail, thanks to some HTML5 magic

The next time you open up Gmail in Chrome keep an eye out for the prompt above, which uses HTML5 to finally close the gap between the ways Google's browser handles mailto: links and its popular email service. Our only question about the change is what took them so long. Using extensions or simply copying and pasting email addresses as Gmail blogger and software developer Michael Davidson has been doing were available workarounds, but they won't be needed any longer — no DRM necessary.

China issues list of approved vehicles for government purchase, excludes imports for first time

A black, Chinese-market Audi A6L is practically the poster-child for Communist Party officials who demand extra legroom rear legroom in a stretched version of standard sedan. The Chinese government reportedly spends 80 million renminbi ($12.7 million U.S.) per year on wheels for its bureaucrats, but according to a report in China Car Times the new list of approved cars available to officials is limited to Chinese models. That not only excludes the Audi – which is built in the country – but also BMW, Mercedes and the coming Infiniti M37 limo.

LG Optimus 4X Coming To UK In June (Available For Pre-Order) – Optimus 3D Max Not Coming To UK Anytime Soon

The LG Optimus 4X HD was one of the better superphones shown off at MWC and the boys at Clove have confirmed with LG that the device will be headed to the UK. Priced at around £456 inc. VAT, they’ve already thrown up the 4X HD for pre-order on their site, with an expected launch data of this June. The bittersweet news (maybe all sweet for some) is that the follow up to last years Optimus 3D — the LG Optimus 3D Max — currently has no plans to launch in the UK and whether that changes sometime in the future remains to be seen.

36 cars fall through ice at Wisconsin fishing tournament

This winter hasn't been quite as cold as it could have been, but in Wisconsin, there have been enough sub-freezing days for lakes to develop about of foot-thick coating of ice. That's enough ice for some good ice fishing, but it apparently isn't thick enough to use as a high-traffic parking lot. Frozen anglers at a Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin fishing tournament decided to park in close proximity to one another on the ice with predictably disastrous results. Hit the jump to watch the Twin Cities' Fox News 9 and its coverage of tow trucks plucking vehicle after vehicle out of the appropriately named Lake Winnebago.

Monopoly: Street Fighter Collector's Edition

If you're a fan of Street Fighter and Monopoly, you've probably heard about the special Street Fighter edition of Monopoly that will be coming out soon. However, that's not all - it looks like you'll be able to choose which characters will be part of the tokens that ship with the final version. Instead of a top hat, iron or boot it looks like you'll be able to use one of the Street Fighter characters - how awesome is that. The decision of which fighters to include haven't been finalized yet, so Capcom has put up a poll on its website to let users choose which characters they would like to see in the game.

Google, Microsoft and Netflix want DRM-like encryption in HTML5

HTML5 is supposed to set the web free. Free to deliver and shape online media in any web browser. However, several of the standard's greatest champions want to be able to restrict the use of audio and video tags through encrypted media extensions. A draft proposal has been submitted by Google, Microsoft, and Netflix to the W3C — the curators of HTML5 — to add encrypted media extensions to the web standard's spec. The proposed system works using a key-based content decryption system controlled by applications, thusly providing the copy protection that so many content owners desire.

But when you post to Facebook about it being a funny thing that exists in the world, there's a chance that your post might get turned into an ad for that specific lifetime supply of hand love enabler, visible to everyone you know. That's what happened when Nick Bergus posted about the notorious 55-gallon pleasure tub a while back. He saw it, fired off a joke, and more or less forgot about it.
