International spam botnet found to be infecting Android devices

. A Microsoft engineer on Tuesday identified a new international spam botnet that can access Yahoo. Mail accounts on Android devices. Terry Zink noted on a Microsoft blog that various spam emails included the signature, “Sent from Yahoo! Mail on Android.” The engineer then traced the IP addresses of the emails to various developing countries, such as Chile, Indonesia, Lebanon, Oman, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Ukraine and Venezuela.
