Square's feeling good, on pace to take $5 billion in payments per year

Despite growing competition from PayPal, Intuit and Verifone, it appears that Square's business is still going gangbusters. The grandaddy of all smartphone payment systems is set to take $5 billion in payments this year, up from $2 billion a scant six months ago. According to company COO Keith Rabois, such expansive growth has been fostered by the fact that Square makes the cash from transactions available to merchants the next business day - a feature greatly appreciated by small businesses.

 . A little over a week ago, we wrote about the GPS dongle that was meant to improve the Transformer Prime's GPS reception. As you know, Asus received a lot of complaints about the slate's all-metal design, which is believed to be the culprit of the poor reception. Hence, ASUS made a promise that it will be sending out dongles, a.k.a. the TF201 GPS Extension Kit, to solve the problem.

We are thrilled to report that Asus has indeed launched the said dongles with some of them already arriving at Prime owners' homes as of this writing. Honestly, the dongles may not be the perfect solution.

Samsung Galaxy Note headed to T-Mobile according to leaked photos

. Samsung's smartphone-tablet hybrid, the Galaxy Note, is currently available exclusively on AT&T in the United States. According to leaked images published by TmoNews, however, the supersized handset will soon be making its way onto T-Mobile. Subscribers on the nation's fourth-largest carrier were previously limited to software hacks in order to grant the popular “phablet” access to T-Mobile's HSPA+ network. The leaked images suggest that the device is running Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich and contains the usual preloaded T-Mobile apps -  Name ID, Mall, TV and My T-Mobile.

Rumor has it that T-Mobile will be offering the Samsung Galaxy Note “phoneblet,” but a photo posted on the carrier-dedicated blog adds an air of confirmation to the news. TMo News showed an image of the Galaxy note with T-Mobile brand emblazone on it. The device shows the standard array of T-Mobile apps such as T-Mobile Name ID, T-Mobile Mall, My T-Mobile, and T-Mobile TV.
The Galaxy Note could the “it” device T-Mobile has been longing. This smartphone-tablet hybrid is one of Samsung's most successful devices, with three million units sold during its first three months on the market.
