In my search for awesome portable speakers, I have had some luck as of late.  I have done a few reviews here on The Gadgeteer for portable Bluetooth speakers that are solid choices for the audiophile looking to untether take his or her tunes from the confines of the living room.  But until now, I have never tried one that was truly meant for the wild, with water-, dust-, and shock-absorbing protection.  Enter the Braven BRV-1 Bluetooth Speaker.  What Braven has done is pack a ton of features into a small package that begs to brave the elements.

Because Livescribe 3 gives over so much functionality to the app (which we'll get to later), the design of the pen is surprisingly minimal. Indeed, Livescribe's VP of Marketing, Bryan Rodrigues, told us that the company wanted it to look more like a pen than a gadget. With the screen and the on/off switch gone, we'd say they succeeded on that front. LG G Flex with curved OLED display goes official in Korea

LG officially took the wraps off the G Flex smartphone with curved display in Korea. The Android handset will hit all three major carriers in its homeland next month, where it will square off against the Samsung Galaxy Round. Naturally, the main feature of the LG G Flex is its curved display. It is a massive 6x720p OLED unit whose IMAX cinema-like horizontal curve in landscape mode will allow for an immersive experience when watching videos or playing video games.

Another peculiar talent featured by the device is self-healing film on its back which can deal with minor scratches in a matter of minutes.

Aston CEO claims Cygnet cancelled because Toyota is dropping iQ in 2014

While slow sales and a $50,000 price tag may have been contributing factors to the Aston Martin Cygnet being cancelled last month, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is pointing the finger at Toyota for the demise of this luxurious little city car. In a discussion with Autocar, Bez is quoted as saying that the ultimate reason the Cygnet was cut is because Toyota plans on dropping the iQ (on which the Cygnet is based) in 2014 – a claim denied by the Japanese automaker.

So iPhone owners can claim that their touchscreens are more responsive than those of Android users, but are they as accurate. That's the question the folks at OptoFidelity wanted to answer, so they built a machine to do the heavy lifting and set about plotting their data. The results were quite surprising. Using a precision-calibrated robot arm and finger to continuously touch smartphone displays at specific coordinates, the intended result was than compared to the actual data points registered by the operating system.
