Verizon Wireless has recently released the Samsung Intensity III rugged smartphone. The entry-level smartphone supports 810F military specifications. It means that the Intensity III is able to withstand shock, extreme temperatures, solar radiation and dust. The Samsung Intensity III features a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixel) QVGA display, a 2-megapixel digital camera, Bluetooth connectivity, a microSD memory card slot and an external numeric keypad. This new budged-friendly is priced at just $79.99 with a 2-year agreement.

Mazda seen raising production of CX-5 as Skyactiv engine capacity doubled

We've grown quite fond of Mazda's new Skyactiv engine range, and apparently, we aren't the only ones. High demand for these engines has caused Mazda to double its production of both the gasoline and diesel four-cylinder engines, and starting in October, the automaker will produce 800,000 of these efficient engines globally, up from 400,000. In the United States, the 2.0-liter gasoline engine is the only Skyactiv unit currently available, found under the hood of the Mazda CX-5 (pictured) and select Mazda3 models.

Microsoft may be going it alone in making its first tablet but company chairman and founder Bill Gates says that Windows PC original equipment manufacturers shouldn't feel spurned. As Julie Bort of Business Insider notes, Gates was interviewed by PBS's Charlie Rose on Monday night and was asked about the advantages of a software company building its own devices versus relying on third-party OEMs. Gates said that one approach doesn't necessarily preclude the other.
“I actually believe you can have the best of both worlds,” Gates explained.

Beats Electronics, a company known for its Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, has confirmed its acquisition of music streaming service MOG to the tune of $10 million. The acquisition is a win-win situation for both parties, as MOG needs to keep up in the Spotify-dominated industry, while Beats wants to add a notch to its consumer electronics experience.
“The addition of MOG's music service to the Beats portfolio will provide a truly end-to-end music experience,” said David Hyman, founder and CEO of MOG.
