Google confirms Gmail outage

Internet search giant Google has confirmed and acknowledged that a small percentage of their Gmail users did experience an outage. Just how small. We are looking at less than 0.11% of Gmail users out there, where they were unable to access Google Mail since approximately 9:00 a.m. ET this morning. According to Google, all is fine and dandy now, so nearly 400,000 folks who were affected earlier this morning can continue their lives without worrying about the sky falling down on their heads.

Remember that Compal franken-gadget reference design we saw at CES. Well, something quite similar looks to be heading to Computex and thence to market, courtesy of Chinese manufacturer CZC Tech. The company has loaded up its Transformer-style 13.3-inch U116T with Ivy Bridge and HD 4000 graphics, the world's favorite resolution, 4GB RAM and a choice of SSD capacities. On the connectivity front you'll get one each of USB 2.0 and 3.0, a memory card slot, audio jacks, SIM slot and an optional fingerprint scanner for people who don't like sharing.

Apple Pushes Live WWDC 2012 Schedule and iOS App: Keynote Announced For June 11

If you were lucky enough to get a ticket to Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2012) event this year, it seems that Apple has just released the event schedule for it as well as a new application for attendees to use while they are present at it. In addition to that, Apple has confirmed its keynote to be at June 11 at 10am PDT and apparently it is said to include both iOS and OS X announcements. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the keynote, it is basically the session during which new products and services are likely to be launched.

HTC One X with global roaming to be released by China Telecom in June. Images and specs leak

HTC is getting ready to bring a variant of its flagship smartphone to China Telecom. This comes after the Taiwanese manufacturer has already announced the One XT for China Mobile and also released a GSM/HSPA model for China Unicom. But it looks like China's No.3 carrier will also get its own One X. Its unclear what it will be called, but the model number is X720d. The HTC X720d has been certified by the Chinese authorities, and through that certification we basically found out everything there is to know about its specs.

Microsoft's Windows 8 is scheduled for launch later this year and we're fully prepared for manufacturers to start churning out Windows 8 tablets as soon as it does launch. However, rumor has it there is already at least one interesting Windows 8 device in the wild. Well, that is if you consider Steve Ballmer's office ‘the wild.'. Microsoft Vice President Frank Shaw this morning told Wired UK that Steve Ballmer has traded in his phone and note pad in exchange for a big Windows 8 tablet. Like, a really big tablet.

Once again it's the fine folk at XDA-Developers who come up with the goods, in the form of a CM9 add-on pack for the apparently passé Galaxy Nexus. Included in the bundle are all the leaked goodies from Samsung's latest flagship so far (including a working S Voice), as well as a TouchWiz launcher for added authenticity, plus a few other treats for good measure. While designed for CM9, it's believed it may also work with other, similar ROMs.
