NewerTech NuTouch Gloves Review

NewerTech NuTouch Gloves Review

Winters here in Southern Indiana can be pretty brutal. Not this year though. Heck, it was 70 degrees on the last day of February. But in general, temps get well below freezing, which means I have to dig out a pair of gloves every morning for my drive to work. Gloves plus a touchscreen phone can equal frustration when a call comes in. Pulling off your gloves to interact with the capacitive screen means cold hands and unneeded distraction while driving.

Windows 8 registry shows nine separate flavors to choose from

With each subsequent release of Windows we're left bracing for what will surely be another overwhelming assortment of retail packaging options. With Windows 7 there was a dizzying 6 SKUs to choose from, and we're sorry to say that, at least for now, there are even more coming with Windows 8. As noted by windows 8 beta the registry contains the keys for all current versions of the OS and, with a quick trip to Regedit we were able to verify with the screenshot above.

Ubuntu's 'Precise Pangolin' emerges into Beta, enjoys the fresh air (video)

So, it looks like Precise Pangolin has just crawled out of its Alpha hiding hole, and into the open plains of Beta testing. The Beta 1 version of Ubuntu 12.04 is available to download today, and Beta 2 is already in the crosshairs, one month from now. Being an LTS (Long Term Support) release, we knew changes weren't going to be drastic, but there are some noteworthy ones. We heard RhythmBox would be back as the default media player, and it is, and it looks like Ubuntu One synching also showed up as expected. Under the hood, the kernel goes from 3.2.0-12.21 to 3.2.0-17.27 and RC6 for Sandy Bridge systems has been enabled.

Assassin's Creed 3 is official, will be set in the American Revolution

Assassin's Creed 3 is official, will be set in the American Revolution

The Assassin's Creed's Facebook page, owned by Ubisoft has published three images that looks like boxart for Assassin's Creed 3, each representing the Microsoft Xbox 360, the Sony Playstation 3, and last but not least, for the PC platform, officially confirming earlier rumours that the next game would be set in the American Revolution. It shows the assassin star of this morning's concept art axe murdering a soldier as the revolution rages behind him. Ubisoft won't even wait a full year to release the next Assassin's Creed, because the next one, Assassin's Creed III, will be out on October 30.

2013 Ford Super Duty teased, new trim coming

2013 Ford Super Duty teased, new trim coming

The Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck is a pretty big deal. Not only is it physically large and imposing, it's also a huge seller for Ford and a vehicle that practically generates its own weight in gold profit. That being the case, it's no surprise that Ford is keen to make some noise about a new trim level for the 2013 Super Duty. Judging from the lone teaser image let out by Ford, we can all expect the 2013 F-Series Super Duty to retain its massive, upright and in-your-face grille, flanked on either side by squared-off headlamps.

2011 Mini Countryman: February 2012

2011 Mini Countryman: February 2012

I regret to inform you that despite what the image above indicates, Autoblog's long-term Mini Countryman will again be passing hands without having been thoroughly tested in the type of inclement weather for which it's been prepared. While we thought there was no way it would escape a February in Cleveland without slogging through weeks of snowfall, our Countryman's Bridgestone Blizzak WS-70 winter tires only met the cold stuff once, and then for only a day or two before everything melted.
