Some people believe that taking the resolution of smartphone and phoneblet screens beyond 720p is rather useless as you won't be able to see the difference beyond that point, but LCD-makers obviously believe there's still room for improvement. Chimei Innolux have just unveiled a 5" panel with 1080p resolution. That makes the LCD giant the second company to showcase such a product after LG demoed an identically spec'd screen this past June.
