During a conference call with investors and the media, Verizon CFO Fran Shammo revealed that the carrier activated 7.5 million smartphones in Q2, adding that 27 percent of those activations were new Verizon subscribers. He also added that 3.8 million of this 7.5 million smartphones activated were accounted for by iPhones. However, he did not reveal exactly how many iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 units were sold to achieve this total.
