The launch of the next-generation Hyundai Genesis is drawing closer and closer, and this latest set of spy shots gives us our best look yet at the Korean automaker's new sedan. Caught testing on the Nürburgring, we're not only getting a better look at the finer details of the Hyundai's exterior, but this set of photos gives us a clear view inside the cockpit, as well. For its new generation, the Hyundai Genesis appears to be moving a bit more upmarket in terms of materials and layout, with a redesigned steering wheel, gauge cluster and center stack.

Provo Is Reportedly The Next Google Fiber Location

Only a few days back we reported that Google Fiber was finally coming to Austin. It had campaigned to became the launch city for Google's gigabit internet service but lost out to Kansas. Apparently the next Google Fiber location is Provo, Utah. This according to a local Provo based website and the Provo mayor's promise that he'll be making an epic announcement today at 12:30 p.m. PST.

The mayor wrote on his blog that this announcement will be the “single largest accomplishment” of his professional career.

Outlook.com app finally doesn't look like complete crap

Microsoft's Outlook/Hotmail app for Android has never been the prettiest sight to behold. Even back before we had Holo its user interface was quite ugly, and although most users only cared for functionality at the end of the day, there were quite a few more who would rather put up with third party clients. The app has finally gotten a major user interface overhaul, though, as the latest update introduces a less ugly experience. I stress “less ugly” because Microsoft tried to combine its Windows Phone-esque interface with Holo elements, creating a mashup of worlds that just doesn't feel quite right.

We've been hearing a number of rumors of Microsoft possibly creating a Microsoft-branded “Surface Phone,” which we expected to hear by the first half of this year, especially since Foxconn has reportedly been chosen to manufacture the device. But Microsoft's corporate vice president of Windows Phone, Terry Myerson, decided to shed some light on the company's plans on possibly delivering an official Microsoft-branded Windows Phone. Myerson hulk smashed his way through all of those previous rumors by denying such a handset would launch anytime soon during AllThingD's Mobile Conference.

Spartan V trackday racer finally ready for prime time (video)

A few things have changed since the Spartan V track car was announced almost three years ago. Back in 2010, the red open-top sportscar from Australia was slated to be a 661-pound apex-hugger with 170 horsepower coming from a 1,200-cc Ducati engine. The slinky red bodywork remains, but the engine now comes from Honda: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turns the output wick up to 250 hp. Opt for the supercharger and benefit from 400 horsepower.
